A Message from Paul Herschell
Managing Member
There has been some confusion in the marketplace about “Who is Cherokee?” Many of you may be familiar with my background – and that of the Herschell family’s - in the construction industry. My parents, Rhonda and Vince Herschell, founded Cherokee General Construction in 1985. They were instrumental in helping me develop my vision for a new company – Cherokee Construction Services. I am grateful for their mentorship in those early years!
I launched Cherokee Construction Services (CCS) in 2003. We started small – with a focus on delivering top level environmental construction services. With the help of the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) program, we’ve grown CCS into a full service general contractor – serving both public and private clients on a variety of increasingly complex design-build projects.
Rhonda and Vince Herschell retired and sold Cherokee General Corporation in 2008 to Doyon, Limited. However, long before that Cherokee General Corporation and Cherokee Construction Services operated as completely independent companies. Cherokee Construction Services has no affiliation with Cherokee General Corporation or the family of Doyon Companies.
I understand the potential for confusion of “who’s who”. I kept “Cherokee” in the company name as a source of pride in being a member of the Cherokee Nation. I am also proud of my company’s growth and success. Our group of dedicated employees strives to live by our core values everyday: Honesty, Innovation and Customer-Driven. I believe Cherokee Construction Services’ reputation is strong because of this.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me or my team with questions. Thank you. |
